Before you start
- Sign in to Pear on the register you want to pair using a manager account.
- Have the Linkly Cloud username and password for this terminal ready. For live terminals, your bank or payment provider can confirm Cloud support, activation and credentials.
- Power on the terminal and connect it to the internet. Use the connection method your provider supports.
Pair the terminal
-
Get a fresh pair code
Use your provider’s instructions to put the terminal in Linkly Cloud pairing mode. The terminal shows a temporary pair code. On the development Virtual PIN pad, press FUNC, enter 8880 and confirm.
-
Open the Linkly settings in Pear
Go to Settings → Payments → Linkly. Select the Cloud connection for your environment. In the sandbox build, select Use Cloud sandbox.
-
Pair and check the status
Enter the Cloud username, Cloud password and PIN pad pair code. Select Pair Cloud PIN pad and wait for Pear to show that the terminal is paired. In the sandbox, the status reads Cloud sandbox paired.
Enter your credentials directly in Pear. Keep your password and pair code out of emails and support screenshots.
Check the connection at checkout
In the sandbox, add a test item and choose Card → Pay with Linkly · sandbox. Check that the amount appears on the Virtual PIN pad. Complete the test there and wait for Pear to show the outcome. For a live terminal, follow your provider’s test procedure.
If Pear is still checking a payment, use Check status on the payment screen and wait for the original result before starting another payment.
If pairing doesn’t work
- There’s no pair code on the terminal
- Check the internet connection and ask your bank or provider how to open Cloud pairing mode on your terminal model.
- Pear rejects the credentials or code
- Confirm the username and password belong to the terminal and environment you selected. Generate a fresh pair code and try again.
- The terminal or register was replaced
- Finish any pending payment first, then repeat the pairing steps on the intended register. Pairing the same terminal to another POS can invalidate its previous connection.
